What I’m Reading This Fall

I am so excited for Fall. I am looking forward to cool weather, hot cider, and pumpkin spice everything. But most of all, I’m excited about the books that I’m going to read.

Here are some of the books that are on my TBR this Fall:

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty

Synopsis: Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can’t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these 10 days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next 10 days are going to be.

I love love love Liane Moriarty’s writing. She is a master storyteller. Big Little Lies is one of my all-time favorite books. I didn’t love her most recent book, Truly Madly Guilty, as much Big Little Lies, but I’m hoping that this new book will be just as good. The plot is intriguing because it takes place in a luxury health resort.

The Burglar by Thomas Perry

This plot reminds me of the movie The Bling Ring except this cat thief is operating a one-woman show. I have always been fascinated by the glitz, glamour, and the celebrities of the Los Angeles area; throw in some dead bodies and a thriller vibe and I’m all in. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Synopsis: This psychological thriller examines the relationship between psychotherapist Theo Faber and his patient Alicia Berenson, who becomes mute after she is hospitalized for murdering her husband. She’s a famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, and lived in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening her husband Gabriel returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face, and then never speaks another word. The book explores the relationship between doctor and patient with some very shocking twists.

Forget You Know Me by Jessica Strawser

Jessica Strawser is the queen of domestic suburban mysteries. Her most recent book, Not That I Could Tell, centers around a woman and her kids who went missing after a night of drinking wine with her female neighbors. Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Synopsis: This book is about a fictional rock band in the 60’s. Daisy is a beautiful girl with a knockout voice coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding and magnetic Billy Dunne. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legends.

Sex, drugs, rock n’ roll, and great early reviews had me wanting to get my hands on this book. It’s also been optioned for a limited Amazon Studio series by Hello Sunshine, which is Reese Witherspoon’s production company. Reese has raved about this book and I can’t wait to dive in. This summary immediately drew me in! A cray cray ex girlfriend who is obsessed and stalking her former boyfriend. Is it as twisted as I think it will be? I’ll read and find out. Thank you to Harlequin – Graydon House Books for providing an advance copy.
